XLII European Culture Collections’ Organisation (ECCO) meeting entitled “Microbe & Microbiome Management for a Better Planet” is organised in Bari (Italy) from 18 to 20 September 2024 by the Institute of Sciences of Food Production (ISPA), National Research Council (CNR), ITEM CNR Culture Collection, andthe International Society of Mycotoxicology. Dr. Giancarlo Perrone and Prof. Giovanna Felis, PIMENTO members, are one of the chairs and a member of the scientific committee of the meeting, respectively Different topics/sessions dealing with food fermentation and food microbiology:
- microbes for environmental sustainability, under a climate change scenario
- microbes from farm to fork
- pathogenic and beneficial aspects of microbes in human and animal health
- microbiomes preservation and exploitation
- microbes and citizen sciences: through the lens of public opinion
- advanced approaches in taxonomy, phylogeny and functional genomics
- networking, services, quality and data management of microbial culture collections
The organisers encourage all potential contributors to take advantage of the extended deadline and submit their abstracts by June 30, 2024.
